  • As a journalist for the Dutch newspaper ‘Trouw’, ‘Filosofie Magazine’ and other written media, I report on new developments in philosophy. I want to make philosophical insights accessible for a wider audience, and share the joy of doing philosophy with readers.

  • I translate from Icelandic to Dutch. Icelandic is a beautiful language with a rich literary history - from the sagas of the Icelanders and the Edda to crime novels and contemporary literature. My own interests lie in literary fiction, children’s literature and contemporary fiction.

I’ve translated the psychological novel ‘De schok’ (Stóri skjálfti) by Auður Jónsdóttir. Published: July 2023, Mozaïek.

Together with Kim Liebrand, I translated Fríða Ísberg’s science fiction-slash-philosophical novel ‘Markering’. Published: November 2022, De Geus.

My translation of an excerpt from the coming-of-age novel ‘Smarties’ by Gerður Kristný has appeared in PLUK magazine, which acts as a springboard for young translators.

  • I review books for different media. For Trouw, I review philosophical non-fiction (either translated works or Dutch). For Biografieportaal, a website about biographies, I review books about scientists and philosophers. For Boekenkrant, a free magazine about books, I review novels and philosophical non-fiction.
